Electrical Engineer
Muhammad Zulqarnain
Hi, I am a Fulbright Ph.D. Scholar at Rutgers University in Electrical Engineering, where I have been pursuing my doctorate since 2020. I also serve as a faculty member at the Institute of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering, University of the Punjab, Lahore. I earned my B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Punjab in 2015, graduating with a gold medal for outstanding academic performance, and my M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in 2017, where I was placed on the Dean’s Honor Roll.
My research centers on applications of machine learning in distributed systems, with a particular emphasis on the sample complexity analysis of stochastic algorithms in applications of smart grids, autonomous vehicles, federated systems, and cyber-physical systems. I have worked on distributed streaming Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and am currently extending my work to Bayesian machine learning in distributed and decentralized settings.
